What's Happening at Paper and Pencils, Inc.
Delta Back Packs Delivered!
Thanks to your support and the generous matching grant from My Clear Back Pack
Company of Louisville, KY, donating one box of 25 back packs for every two boxes of
back packs Paper and Pencils. Inc., purchased, we sent almost 900 pounds of back
packs, school supplies and books to three school districts s in Mississippi and two
school on the Oglala Lakota Indian Reservation in South Dakota, the Oglala Lakota
College and Our Lady of Lourdes School. We'll have more details on the supplies
delivered, out Annual Giving Campaign results and our plans for the 2009-2010 school
year when the next issue of The Back Pack will be available on this site in April.
Delta Back Packs
Every year we send backpacks filled with school supplies to schools in the MS Delta
and other economically disadvantaged areas in the United States. You can help even
more children start the school year right by donating to our Delta Backpacks campaign!

Please note that our prices increased this year as all Mississippi school districts
require back packs be constructed of clear plastic to comply with new safety plans.

What Do We Believe?
We believe that education is the best hope of breaking the cycle of poverty.
We help by using your donations to provide back packs, school supplies and
books to needy children in the Mississippi Delta so no child will be denied an
education for lack of paper or pencil.

How do we do this?
Our wonderful supporters hold silent auctions, book sales, bake sales,
rummage sales, etc., and send us school supplies or just plain send money.
We then purchase and ship school supplies to disadvantaged children and
schools in the Delta.
